OK, I just saw the Paul Seydor cut and I’m left wondering why? Why did they waste time and money on what I feel is a totally pointless exercise. Why couldn’t they have spent all that money on cleaning the Turner Cut (which in my opinion is far superior) up and putting back the scene that they trimmed involving Garrett and his wife.
They let this guy recut it just because he is some authority on Peckinpah! However he manages to strip the movie of all of Peckinpah’s trademarks. Case in point, the opening credit sequence. The Turner Cut is fabulous, with the cross cutting and framed titles. It gets replaced by Seydor with the lamest montage title sequence ever.
